Can dietary requirements be accommodated on a retreat?
Please tell us about any dietary requirements or food allergies before booking so we can confirm what is possible at your chosen venue. Our weekend retreats feature vegetarian meals prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Menus and catering arrangements vary, so checking with us beforehand helps you choose a stay that suits your needs.
What is included in the price of a residential retreat?
Residential retreat packages can include accommodation, guided yoga sessions, meals and access to facilities at the venue. The details vary between locations. Before booking with us, check the individual retreat’s inclusions and exclusions, particularly travel, airport transfers, treatments and optional activities, so you understand the full cost of your stay.
How long should my first retreat be?
A day retreat can be a comfortable starting point if you would like to experience guided yoga and mindfulness without an overnight stay. A weekend or longer retreat offers more time to settle in and enjoy a change of surroundings. Choose a length that feels manageable for your schedule, budget and comfort with being away.
What types of yoga are practised on a retreat?
Our programmes may include gentle yoga, restorative yoga and Yin yoga, alongside meditation and mindful breathing. Gentle sessions encourage comfortable movement, while restorative and Yin practices offer a slower pace. The combination varies between retreats, with experienced teachers explaining each practice and offering options for different abilities.
What is the difference between a yoga retreat and a regular class?
A yoga retreat gives you dedicated time away from your usual routine, combining guided practice with rest, mindfulness and opportunities to connect with others. A regular class usually focuses on a single session. Our retreats allow more time to settle into your surroundings and focus on your wellbeing without everyday distractions.
Do I need previous yoga experience to join?
No. Our retreats welcome complete beginners and guests who already practise yoga. Teachers offer clear guidance and variations throughout each session, so you can move at a pace that feels comfortable. You do not need to be particularly flexible or fit to take part.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. Many guests join us on their own. Small groups and a warm welcome help you settle in, with opportunities to chat and spend time together. There is also plenty of space for quiet moments by yourself.
Will there be time to relax outside the yoga sessions?
Yes. Guided sessions are balanced with free time, allowing you to read, enjoy the surroundings or simply rest. The schedule gives each day a gentle rhythm while leaving room for you to choose how you spend your time.
What should I bring?
Bring comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, along with layers for quieter practices or cooler weather. For retreats with an overnight stay, suitable walking shoes and swimwear may also be useful, depending on the venue. We will share information about equipment and anything else you need before your retreat.
Do I have to attend every session?
No. You are welcome to take part at a level that feels right for you. If you need some extra time to rest, you can take that space. Our teachers are available to talk through any questions about the practice.
